HAMILTON – Colgate men's ice hockey head coach Don Vaughan announced the team captains for the 2018-19 season led by rising senior Ken Citron (Cos Cob, Connecticut) named captain.

Joining Citron in leadership roles on the team are rising juniors Jared Cockrell (Readfield, Maine) and Bobby McMann (Wainwright, Alberta) as assistant captains.

"These three young men have worked hard to get to these roles and have the respect of their teammates," Vaughan said. "We are excited to see where their leadership will take us in what we hope to be another exciting season of Colgate hockey."

Citron is the 102nd captain in program history following seniors Mike Panowyk (Whitby, Ontario) and Evan Peterson (Lakeville, Minnesota) who shared co-captain duties in the 2017-18 season.

Citron has played in 105 games in his Colgate career and is coming off a season in which he played 37 of the team's 40 games. He made his mark felt on the defensive end where he led the team and finished second in ECAC Hockey with 78 blocked shots, and a 2.11 blocks per game average. Citron was also part of Colgate's strong penalty kill that was 84.6 percent on the season to lead ECAC Hockey and ninth nationally.

Cockrell is coming off a 16-point season in which he scored a career-high nine goals for the Raiders. He led the team with a +6 plus/minus rating and scored three game-winning goals. Cockrell had a pair of multiple goal games throughout the season and scored the game-winning goal at Clarkson in game one of the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals.

McMann led the Raiders with a career-high 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points. He led Colgate in every offensive category, also scoring a team-high five power-play goals. McMann tallied a five-game point streak as the Raiders charged toward the No. 6 seed in the ECAC Hockey playoffs. One of the highlights of McMann's season came in November when he recorded a hat trick and four points at Western Michigan.
