Former Vernon Vipers forward Brett Stapley has been named the NCHC Rookie of the Week.

Stapley is in his first season at Denver University, played three years in Vernon (2015-2018) Played in 153 games with the Vipers collecting (47-goals-74-assists-121-points) was drafted 190th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in round 7 of the 2018 NHL draft.

Brett Stapley Named NCHC Rookie of the Week

DENVER – Denver Pioneers men's hockey freshman forward Brett Stapley has been named NCHC Rookie of the Week, the NCHC announced on Monday.

In two games against No. 2 St. Cloud State, Stapley logged one goal, two assists, an even rating and two shots on goal. The Campbell River, B.C. native and Montreal Canadiens prospect notched a breakaway goal and a primary power-play assist on Friday, then tallied another primary helper on Saturday. He is on a four-game point streak with one goal and four assists.
